Something’s Cooking!

Foods are for God! Thats what I believe…. Because the art of cooking is so different from any other talent in the planet. I agree cooking is an art but you eat it too. Cooking is so imaginative and creative. While Cooking you make utilize all your senses be it the nose, ear, eyes, tongue, hands etc. Cooking is a form of flattery....a playful, deceiving, mean and ignoble activity, which cheats us by shapes and colors, by smoothing and draping...."

“By November I had convinced myself that I had better things to do than read and learn about Politics. Cook for instance. Its so rightly said "When men reach their sixties and retire, they go to places. Women go right on cooking." So I thought why not lay my hands on cooking right away in that way I can save some years before I withdraw.

For me cooking has always been my love. But untill my nupitals I disregarded it utterly. I was busy with my other love be it my carrer, shopping, friends etc, so I used to totally rely on my mothers delectable food. I was 24 when I started cooking, up untill then, I just ate. My mother was a entertaining cook, but what she basically alleged about cooking was that if you worked hard and prospered, someone else would do it for you.

No one cooks alone, Even at their most solitary, a cook in the kitchen is surrounded by generations of cooks past, the advice and menus of cooks present, the wisdom of cookbook writers. So its everybody’s effort which comes in action and a good meal is prepared. The right amount of spices added, the exact quantity of salt or sugar gives the food a exact taste.

After the grand appetizing cooking is done there comes the dishes… Eeerrrr washing them is one thing I hate to do. Washing the greased dishes is so not done. But the cook has to clean the dishes.

So life’s different now. I started driving again.I started cooking again. My cooking is better than my driving as of now. So now I am gonna go get one, fill it up with spices and fat, Fry them sinners brown and its gonna be good aint it.I guess I fell into cooking & there is always something new to discover.

NYC – The Wonderland

It’s the world where I was always amazed, how will the other kingdom seem like, how diverse will it be??? How unique are the natives going to be. Will they act in the same mode as we in India do??? All questions in my psyche were pondering. I have constantly seen the great US of A in movie flicks of Karan Johar; Yash Raj etc. where the settings are used for a romantic song or were the leading actors meet and initiate their love story. As a teen I forever hunted to be in that locations trot around those scenic looking yellow & red trees. OH how gorgeous they look!

Until I accomplish the wish has essentially come genuine as I spin 24 and geared up to bond, according to my folks. So here comes the Shahrukh Khan of my life and we fly to the wonderland after the nuptials. There is a little twirl in the story as compared to Karan Johar’s flick. But the falling in love with the boy and running around the trees was all alike.

As I land the realm of wonderland i.e. the US of A the JFK airport. The first thing I pronounce to myself loud is OH Gosh! It’s massive and orderly. I cherished the airdrome it was so well kept. But I was wrong the moment I checked out of the airport. The roads and the infrastructure were all so tidy and well designed.

Could scarcely see natives toddle though. Everybody in their car and the weather was just perfect. I used to love winter back in India, not until I grasped the perfect freezing frosty weather. New York the land of hallucination as all say! I visited this place @ midnight I fell in love with the place. Each construction standing tall and every structure has its own tale to enlighten… Each construction different from another and challenging each other. I see signboards which easily direct you to places without asking for guidelines. New York is divided by Uptown, Midtown and Downtown. Each of the tree town has its own beauty.

Crowded with citizens past midnight is what was astonishing. Lively, chirpy and full of life. Tourist clicking and covering every part of the site from their Dgcam. Rewinding few years backwards I could see people clicking pictures with their Cameras and owing a camera was a big thing then. But now one and all own a Dgcam. It’s such a universal thing now.

New York City charmed me with their outdoor media. The way the electronic Outdoor Media was put up against a tallest construction making it more attractive and vibrant. As I stroll by which I loved doing at midnight I draw closer towards museums of which I had read them in books. If you love visiting museums then Friday nights you get a free entry to museums.

New York never lets you down when it comes to shopping. All across I could see each store shouting me out. Each dress calling me as if they wanted me to own them. As I was walking down the aisle I could smell yummy Falaphals. Everything tastes better at night .As I try on those falaphals all my taste buds get alive as I enjoy every bite of it. She shows me a little slightly diverse planet were natives appear unlike but yet the same. She lets you try your hands with her ethnicity, food, civilization, people, coffee shops, museums.

Finally the night turns out to me and says Honey it’s time to say goodnight to her. The moon throws her light on me as if escorting me home. So I bid farewell to this charming city with a promise to be back to explore more of it. But the fact is no matter how many times I visit this great city I am always struck with the same thing: the Yellow taxi Cab!
